Camera Obscura Journal Photography Contest

cameraobscura Camera Obscura Journal accepts for its photography contest any photographic-based artwork. The artwork need not consist exclusively of photography. Photography-based mixed media artworks are encouraged for submission, in addition to straight photography as long as it can be submitted electronically.

Criteria considered in judging these photographic artworks include:

artistic merit
technical proficiency
theme: Open (We’re looking for the best, most visually intriguing photography we can find)

Camera Obscura Journal Runs two competitions each year according to the following schedule:

Entries received between Mar. 16 and Sept. 15 are entered in the Winter Competition
Entries received between Sept. 16 and Mar 15 are entered in the Summer Competition

Contest Prize & TERMS

PRIZE DETAILS: Professional Prize - $1,200 cash award and publication in the Camera Obscura Journal of Literature & Photography. Selected finalists also receive publication. In addition, finalists receive a professional marketing template from © The Polished Photographer - worth $100.

Non-professional: $300 cash award and publication. Finalists also receive publication. ELIGIBILITY: Worldwide / 18+ Not eligible to enter? - Find contest where you are.

COPYRIGHT: Copyright of all images remains with the artist. USAGE RIGHTS: We will not use your images for any purpose other than judging. In the event that the image is selected as a finalist, entrant will be notified and given a license/use agreement with Sfumato Press LLC (dba Camera Obscura Journal) granting permission for publication and promotional use of the images before the final judging on the image occurs.
