Call for Submissions – Night Photography Exhibition

1650_exhibit_111022_photographyCompetitions The jazzy neon glow of a motel sign… the silver hush of a moonlit landscape… the hollow loneliness of deserted city street lamps… the raucous revelry of a nightclub at midnight…. NIGHT holds a special place in the heart of photography. The geometry of light and shadow creates an interplay of mystery, possibility, and the foreboding that accompanies paths of the unknown.

This October, as Halloween looms large on the horizon, 1650 invites you to visit THE DARK SIDE: A Juried Exhibit of Night Photography. Photographic greats such as Brassai, George Tice, Peter Hujar, Weegee and Robert Brook are just a few examples of those who have contributed great works in the genre of night photography. This month, at 1650, it is your turn.

Contest Prize & TERMS

PRIZE DETAILS: 30 - 40 works will be selected to be exhibited in the DARK SIDE photography exhibition at 1650 Gallery in the Echo Park district of Los Angeles, California. Selected artists may choose to offer their work for sale. ELIGIBILITY: Open to all photographers worldwide, 18+ Not eligible to enter? - Find contest where you are.

COPYRIGHT: The artist retains the copyrights for all entries into 1650 Gallery's juried photography exhibitions. USAGE RIGHTS: Photographers retain all rights to their work except for submissions accepted for exhibition. Artists grant 1650 gallery the right to use accepted photographs to promote the exhibition, for display on the 1650 Gallery website and for inclusion in an exhibit catalog.
