Being Set Free
Photographers of all levels are invited to submit work reflecting the theme “Being Set Free” to A Smith Gallery by January 11, 2018. The unique project Being Set Free is one in which artists evolve their digital artworks to achieve self-healing and personal discovery. A short contextual ‘story’ of no more than 150 words, written by the artist, should accompany each image. Thirty to thirty five images will be selected for exhibition and shown in the Salon gallery from February 23 to April 15, 2018. Receptions will be held on February 24 and March 31, 2018 both from 4 to 8pm. A Blurb full color catalogue of the exhibit with all the accepted entries will be available for purchase.
Jurying the images will be Karen Divine, artist and educator, Amanda Smith, gallery director of A Smith Gallery, and Melanie Walker, artist and educator. Writing will be juried by Petra Perkins, author and artist, and Kevin Tully, writer and director of A Smith Gallery.
Contest Prize & TERMS
COPYRIGHT: Photographers retain copyrights to their individual images. USAGE RIGHTS: Accepted images may be used by the gallery for promotional purposes during the exhibition. Accepted images will also be included in a Blurb catalogue.
