Backcountry Skiing Canada Photo Comp
Submit backcountry photos and videos, along with a good backcountry story, and enter the comp for gi-normous prizes from the likes of Mt Carlyle Lodge, G3, Westcomb and the Alpine Club of Canada. Back, bigger and better, the 2nd Annual Expose Yourself Photo and Video Contest is here again.
Enticing people to share their backcountry exploits through the written word, still pics and video. We’ve taken it up a notch with the prizes this year and have literally thousands of dollars worth of goodies to lay-on the lucky winners. Muchos gracias to our partners for providing the prizes. The comp. would be considerably less interesting, or non-existent, without their kind contributions.
This year’s comp format has evolved a little from last year. We are having three“heats”–one each for the months of December, January, and February respectively. Each month, we’ll pick five winners who get a small prize and are automatically advanced to the jumbo schwag round at the end of the season. Capiche? In other words, come March 1st when the comp closes, we’ll have 20 entrants from which to choose the four big winners. We want to empty out some of the gear closets here at BSC HQ, and we want to encourage backcountry skiers to submit early (and often)
Contest Prize & TERMS
PRIZE 2: A FULL G3 AT SET UP INCLUDING ZEN OXIDE SKIS, ONYX BINDINGS AND ALPINIST SKINS Our friends from G3 have kicked in an awesome ski/binding/skin combo for our lucky second prize winner. This set up brings together the worlds of light and fat.
PRIZE 3: A WESTCOMB APOCH HARDSHELL JACKET AND CHIEF HARDSHELL PANTS. Our winner number three will be covered in Westcomb products from tip to tail—Apoch top (with the new polartec neo shell fabric) , Chief bottoms. Sick all-day coverage for a day, or week, in the backcountry.
PRIZE 4: TWO NIGHTS ACCOMMODATION FOR TWO AT AN ALPINE CLUB OF CANADA HUT. We’ve partnered with the ACC to offer our fourth prize winner two nights for two at one of their many huts across the country. Big country. Many huts. Nice.
