Are you visiting one of the International Fleet Review events this October? Send up to 5 of your best shots to the Australian Navy Photo Competition for the chance to win cash prizes! The Competition will be judged by a panel of experts including but not limited to members of the Royal Australian Navy’s Imagery Specialist Branch and other appropriate representatives of the promoter. This Competition is one of skill; chance plays no part in determining the winner. Each entry will be individually judged based on originality and creative merit. Participants may enter five images only during the promotional period

The 2013 International Fleet Review will bring together in Sydney Harbour the largest number of international and Australian warships and tall ships seen in the city since the Bicentennial Naval Salute of 1988. The scale and range of the events associated with the Fleet Review, which will be held between 3-11 October this year, will not be repeated for a generation.

The events of the International Fleet Review will provide a not to be missed opportunity for photographers to capture images that will be of considerable historical significance. Navy’s intention is for the public to contribute to the historical collection photographs that would not otherwise be available in the public domain. This photographic record will show those not present along with future generations what the International Fleet Review of 2013 looked like. Photographs may be of the ships, aircraft, sailors, spectators, fireworks and events of the International Fleet Review. The terms and conditions of competition specify that the right to reproduce the photographs submitted will be assigned to the Commonwealth for non commercial purposes.
