The call for entries for the most prestigious photographic competition for photography students has now been launched and the run up to the Students Awards 2011 has begun.

In addition to the AOP Student Photographer of the Year, two runners up will be given Merit Awards. All finalists will have their winning images exhibited in a 2-week exhibition at the AOP Gallery, London.

This year there will be an online entry system so entering the competition will be an easy and quick process. Students can submit unlimited entries, which means there will be an exciting and diverse range of work entered into the competition.

• Lifestyle & Portraiture (Single & Series)
Includes portraits and lifestyle images featuring people and/or animals as the primary element.
• Fashion & Beauty (Single & Series)
Includes fashion and beauty-style images.
• Landscape, Interiors & Exteriors (Single & Series)
Includes landscapes, cityscapes, seascapes, interiors, exteriors and architecture which may or may not include people, animals or objects as a secondary element.
• Still Life (Single & Series)
Includes still life and food shots where inanimate objects feature as the primary element.
