Adventures in the Uplands
The British uplands – and their moorlands, mountains and blanket bogs – can provide a wide range of benefits to us all. They can capture carbon from the atmosphere, regulate water flow downstream, and are a home to a wealth of unique wildlife.
They are also wild places which people enjoy in many different ways – so this year we’d like to see your photos of ‘adventures in the uplands’.
There are lots of ways you could interpret the theme, but we’re looking for dynamic, beautiful and unusual photos which show off adventures in the British uplands. This year the competition has 2 categories: Adults (open to anyone 16 or over) and 15 or under.
Contest Prize & TERMS
Adults category 2nd prize: Walking adventure gear bundle worth £68. A Berghaus 247 25 litre daypack, a pair of Highlander 'Mull' walking poles and a Highlander waterproof map case, courtesy of AdventureQuip outdoor shop Castleton, plus a Community Science 'species chart' t-shirt.
Adults category 3rd prize: a £50 voucher to spend on technical outdoor clothing and equipment, courtesy of Alpkit, plus a Community Science 'species chart' t-shirt. The voucher can be used online or in store.
15 and under category 1st prize: A high Resolution Bird Box Camera System with microphone and night vision, worth £99 courtesy of Gardenature, plus a Community Science 'species chart' t-shirt.
Runners up will received a Community Science 'species chart' t-shirt.
Winning, runner up and selected shortlisted images will be displayed in a touring exhibition in the UK Peak District area during 2018. Not eligible to enter? - Find contest where you are.
