Plein Air Camp Hill Arts Festival

Plein-Air-Arts-Festival-logo The 5th Annual Plein Air Camp Hill Arts Festival features two competitions for photographers – the juried Photographer Primary Competition, and the Quick Shoot. The Photographer Primary Competition requires a formal completed entry form, artist release form, $25 registration fee and the submission of 3 digital examples of entrant’s photography taken within the past three years. Entry deadline is March 16, 2015. All entrants will be juried by a committee and notified of their acceptance by March 31, 2015.

Those selected may capture images within the Central Pennsylvania region of Cumberland, Dauphin, York, Perry, Lancaster and Adams counties between May 25-29, submitting no more than two framed ready-to-hang pieces on May 29 between 12-1 p.m. for judging. Entries must be two-dimensional, minimum framed size of 5”x7” and maximum framed size of 20”x24” (outside dimensions of frames), taken outdoors within the specified Central Pennsylvania region (as defined above) between May 25-29 with digital proof of date and time required, have a name and be for sale.

Winners will be announced at the Collectors Preview Party, May 29, 6-8 p.m., at Camp Hill Borough’s Prosser Hall, 2145 Walnut Street, Camp Hill, PA. All photography submitted into the juried competition will remain hanging and for sale throughout the festival weekend. Main festival day is May 30, 9 a.m.-8 p.m., and the Prosser Hall gallery will also be open May 31, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

The second competition for photographers is the Quick Shoot, an en plein air contest for which the shooting takes place from noon, May 29, through noon, May 30, within the Borough of Camp Hill. Digital proof of date and time is required for no more than one framed ready-to-hang piece brought to the appointed area with artist’s own easel by 3 p.m., May 30, for judging. Entry must have a name and be available for sale. Award announcements anticipated for 4 p.m. All works must remain until the Quick Shoot event concludes at 5 pm. Works not sold during the Quick Shoot competition will be hung for the remainder of the weekend at Prosser Hall gallery, including May 31, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

Those juried into the Primary Photographer Competition do not have to pay $25 registration fee for Quick Shoot, but must register. They also are not eligible for Quick Shoot cash prizes if they won cash prizes in the Primary Photographer Competition but may win “choice awards.” Quick Shoot participants do not have to be juried participants of the Primary Photographer Competition and can enter the Quick Shoot with registration form and $25 fee as late as 11:45 a.m. on May 30, the day the contest ends. Photographers must stop shooting at noon but have until 3 p.m. to submit framed, ready-to-hang entry on easel for judging.

Enter 3 digital images along with this 2015 Photographer Entry Form and a fee of $25.00. Submit your best possible JPEG images, naming your file using your initials, title of work and number: ex. (rmrimage1.jpg). The file size for each image cannot exceed 10 megabytes. The subject matter for these submissions is “open” and not restricted to any particular subject matter, nor any geographical limitations. The photography must be current to within the past three years. All entrants will be juried by a Committee. The total number of participants will be limited to 100.
