The Annual Gurwin Photo Contest is underway! Entries will be accepted from April 15 to June 15, in the categories of Landscapes, Travel, People, Pets, Children, Nature, Wildlife, Long Island/New York, Still Life, Action/Sports, Altered/Enhanced and Student. If past contests are any indication, we expect this year’s entries to be spectacular!

Our contest is unique, giving amateur photographers a way to showcase their work while also doing good; winning photos are enlarged, framed and hung in our Tiffen Gallery for one year then moved throughout our residents home for the enjoyment of residents, staff and visitors alike. This year, we are pleased to offer a digital format to submit entries, and a new “People’s Choice” award.

We are delighted to welcome back our sponsor, The Tiffen Company, leading manufacturer of glass filters and other fine products for digital, still, video, motion pictures and television. Their generous support, now in its 28th year, enables us to continue to enhance the lives of our residents through the exhibition of the breathtaking photography that is shared by amateur photographers in our community through this contest each year. Professional photographers will serve as judges, selecting winners based on clarity, composition, subject matter and suitability for display.
