Prix Elysee 2018

Prix Elysee 2018

The Prix Elysée is an international prize that supports photographic production and encourages mid-career photographers or artists to forge a new project, on a theme of their choice. Thanks to the Prix Elysée, conceived with the support of Parmigiani Fleurier, the nominees and the winner benefit from the support of the Musée de l’Elysée and gain important visibility for two years.

What is it about?
The Prix Elysée is a prize supporting artistic production in the field of photography. Result of a partnership between the Musée de l’Elysée (Lausanne, Switzerland) and Parmigiani Fleurier, it offers financial help and curatorial guidance to artists with a passion for photography and books, so they can take a decisive step in their career.

Who can apply for the Prix Elysée?
The Prix Elysée is open to mid-career photographers or artists from around the world. They must be recommended by a reputed professional in the fields of
photography, contemporary art, cinema, fashion, journalism or publishing. There is no imposed theme or preference for any particular photographic genre or technique.

How does it work?
Eight nominees are selected by the Musée de l’Elysée upon their entry portfolios. Each will receive a contribution of CHF5,000 towards the initial presentation of an original and new project in the nominees’ book, published for the occasion. The winner, chosen by an international jury, will receive CHF80,000 to produce his/her project and publish a book. The eight nominees and the winner will all benefit from important exposure throughout the duration of the prize (2018-2020). The nominees’ and the winner’s books will be printed by one of the Sandoz Family Foundation printing companies.

How to apply?
The call for applications is open from January 1 to March 4, 2018.
Application guidelines and the complete prize rules are available in
