The International Landscape Photographer of the Year 2017
We wish to celebrate the art and craft of landscape photography!
We do this by collecting 101 of the best landscape photographs into a book – printed by Momento Pro, as well as rewarding the ‘best’ single photographs, and the ‘best’ portfolios of four photographs.
In this fourth year of the competition, we are again very pleased to have the depth and judging experience of five of the world’s best photographers and industry professionals.
-David Burnett, co-founder Contact Press Images, USA
-Tim Parkin, ON LANDSCAPE Magazine Editor
-Alex Noriega, 2016 International Landscape Photographer of the Year
-Kaye Davis, NZIPP Grand Master of Photography
-Jim M Goldstein, Fine Art Photographer and Author, USA
We are also pleased to welcome new sponsor Epson Australia!
Competition chairman Peter Eastway says, “The International Landscape Photographer of the Year Award has matured with a look and a style that has been guided in part by our judges, and in part by the entrants. There’s no doubt that our judges have strongly held views on what makes great photography, but equally we’ve invited judges who have a broad appreciation of photography. This cornucopia of ideas curates our wonderfully diverse collection of the top 101 landscape photographs, but it also makes choosing the best three photographers and the best three photographs very challenging.”
The competition is open to all photographers with the aim of again finding the best 101 landscape images from approximately the past 2 years and publishing them in a beautiful coffee table book which will be available in a variety of formats, including a free e-book.
The judges will also be on a search for the International Landscape Photographer of the Year (based on a folio submission of at least 4 images) and the International Landscape Photograph of the Year.
Prizes on offer include US$10,000 cash, Epson Printers, trophies, limited-edition copies of the awards book and large framed prints of winning images.
There are also some special awards to keep things interesting, which change from year-to-year. This year the special awards are;
The SNOW & ICE Award
The ABSTRACT AERIAL Award
The LONG EXPOSURE Award
The EXEMPLARY TREE Award
The MOUNTAINOUS Award
