Pink Lady® Food Photographer of the Year 2018
Pink Lady® Food Photographer of the Year 2018 has officially opened the shutter for its seventh year.
To celebrate, the Awards are serving up a delicious feast of seven new judges and exciting new categories too.
New jurists are Ferran Adria, iconic chef of the oft-voted world’s best restaurant, El Bulli, Jenna Close, American Society of Media Photographers, Henry Dallal, Photographer, Sheila Dillon, The Food Programme, BBC Radio 4, Pierre Koffman, legendary 3-Michelin starred chef, Alison Morley, Documentary Practice and Visual Journalism, International Center of Photography, H.E. Ali Bin Thalith, Secretary General, HIPA and Tamara Beckwith, The Little Black Gallery.
To spice up the process, David Loftus, hugely influential and respected food photographer, is to be Chair of the Judges, while categories include for the very first time, Student Food Photographer of the Year to facilitate the next generation.
“It just gets better and better each year – from Austria to Australia, Kuala Lumpur to Kent, the standard of entries is exceptional,” says founder and Director, Caroline Kenyon.
“It’s so exciting to see the amount of recognition our winners receive in the media across the world. And it’s incredibly rewarding to hear about our finalists’ amazing success stories, photography commissions, road trips, invitations to host workshops and master classes in far-flung corners of the globe. Contest Prize & TERMS
Category winners: All category winners will receive a prestigious trophy. All category winners will receive a Pro Zenfolio account, free for the first year. The current value of this account is £192. Full details of this prize to be supplied by Zenfolio in a letter to be given to the Winners at the Awards evening
The winner of Errazuriz Wine Photographer of the Year, a category of Pink Lady® Food Photographer of the Year, will win £1000 and an Errazuriz Don Maximiano Founder's Reserve Commemorative Magnum (150cl), signed by Eduardo Chadwick. The winner of the Pink Lady® Apple a Day category will win £1000 and the winning image will be used by Pink Lady® in its UK multi media marketing campaign. The winner of the Food Bloggers category will win a 12 month online mentoring programme valued at £2400 (no cash alternative). The winner of the unearthed® Food Film Shorts category will win £1,000. The winner of the Production Paradise Food off the Press category will win a special feature in the Production Paradise Spotlight Food & Drink Photography online magazine, along with a 12-image gallery of their work. The winner of One Vision Imaging Cream of the Crop, a category of Pink Lady® Food Photographer of the Year will win £300 for use against One Vision Imaging services. The winner of the Student Food Photographer of the Year category will win an ONA bag from Johnsons Photopia up to the value of £300. The winner of the Fujifilm Award for Innovation will receive the following:
6-month relationship with Fujifilm to be taken within 12 months of the awards. Free loan of Fujifilm X-series products during the relationship. Fujifilm will support the photographer by promoting them on their Social Media channels (subject to the work being shot on Fujifilm products)
Fujifilm will support the photographer with up to 10 exhibition quality prints, to be printed by a laboratory of Fujifilm’s choice. May be commissioned to present on behalf of Fujifilm at retailer events, experience days or trade shows (subject to the work being shot on Fujifilm products)
Finalists will be invited to attend the glittering VIP Awards evening at the world renowned Mall Galleries, London SW1 along with leading figures from the world of photography, retail, food/photography and national press.
You will have the opportunity to see your work displayed in the Mall Galleries, London SW1 in the spring of 2018 in an open-to-the-public exhibition giving your work free high profile exposure. This is intended to help publicise your creativity, and encourage and inspire others to develop their skills in food photography for the following year.
