Global Change Institute Photo Competition 2017
This year’s theme is Urban Food. We are looking for images that highlight the different facets of food in an urbanising world.
Urbanisation is one of this century’s most transformative trends, with over half the world’s human population now living in cities. This profound urban shift has significant implications for governments, individuals, urban households, and rural communities.
The subject of ‘urban food’ might include activities such as food production/urban agriculture, trade, retail and distribution, consumption
It might also include outcomes such as food security, equity and fairness, malnutrition and obesity, social and community, policy and politics, food waste, environment and ecosystems, technology and innovation, crisis, etc.or other aspects of food you’ve discovered in your travels.
Entries can be from an economic, social/cultural or environmental dimension. Inspirational interpretations of urban food from around the world are most welcome!
Whether you’re a student who photographs as a hobby, a serious photographer or simply looking for photographic inspiration – we’d encourage you to enter.
Please note, print or video submissions will not be accepted.
