We are excited to announce The Kennel Club Dog Photography of the year 2015 competition is now open to entries!

We are calling all professional and amateur photographers worldwide to enter! Anyone with a flair for capturing the true character of dogs and the unique relationship between dogs and owners.

The competition is free and the judges are looking to award the best shots across eight different categories listed below.

There are some great prices at stake such as a two day course hosted by one of the best in its field, Andy Biggar photography.

Contest Prize & TERMS

PRIZE DETAILS: Overall Winner of Dog Photographer of the Year 2015 – your image will be displayed in the Kennel Club Art Gallery in Mayfair London and we’ll also provide you with 1 SmugMug business account and a two day course hosted by Andy Biggar Photography – one of the world’s best known professional dog photographers. Overall winner will receive an original oil painting of their winning image by internationally awarded artist, Sara Abbott. Winner will also receive their exhibition printplus an award, certificate, rosette and trophy.

Category Winner for Assistance and Dog Charities - your image will be displayed in the Kennel Club Art Gallery in Mayfair London and we’ll also provide you with 1 SmugMug business account and a two day course hosted by Andy Biggar Photography – one our best known professional dog photographers. We will also donate £500 to your nominated charity plus a framed image and certificate.* (dog charity to be vetted and approved by the Kennel Club).

Category Winners for I Love Dogs Because… Under 18, Dogs at Play, Dogs at Work, Portrait, Puppies, Man’s Best Friend and Oldies - your image will be displayed in the Kennel Club Art Gallery in Mayfair London and we’ll also provide you with ONE SmugMug business account and a two day course hosted by Andy Biggar Photography – one our best known professional dog photographers. Plus a framed image and certificate.

Each category Runner-Up (2nd place and 3rd place) for I Love Dogs Because… Under 18, Dogs at Play, Dogs at Work, Portrait, Puppies, Man’s Best Friend, Assistance and Dog Charities and Oldies - your image will be displayed in the Kennel Club Art Gallery in Mayfair London and we’ll also provide you with 1 SmugMug Portfolio account and a one day course hosted by Andy Biggar Photography – one our best known professional dog photographers. Plus a framed image and certificate.

COPYRIGHT: The entrant warrants that the photo(s) will not infringe any rights of any third party. The entrant must also be the sole author and owner of the copyright in all photo(s) entered i.e. the entrant must have taken the photograph(s). Photos must be the sole work of the photographer, no shared copyright and all model releases and location releases (if needed) must be undertaken by the photographer. USAGE RIGHTS: The entrant grants to the Kennel Club and Samsung (“Sponsor”) the worldwide and non-exclusive royalty-free right and license for copyright to reproduce the prize winning and commended entries in branded forms and media and in all manners for promotion of the Dog Photographer of the Year competition. The following copyright accreditation –Name of photographer. The Kennel Club Limited Picture Library© will be used so far as possible.

No other usage for the Dog Photographer of the Year 2014 will be licensed to the Kennel Club or Sponsor or third party outside of promotion of the Dog Photographer of the Year competition. If there is any interest by the Kennel Club or Sponsor in licensing images outside of promotion of the Dog Photographer of the Year, The Kennel Club Picture Library will contact the photographer directly.

The Kennel Club will endeavour to credit all photos when used in print or on the Kennel Club website.
