Next Photographer Award 2016
D&AD celebrates and nurtures outstanding work in design and advertising by awarding the finest work each year. A D&AD Pencil is recognised the world over as a symbol of the very highest creative achievement. Winning a D&AD New Blood Award puts people under 24 on the path to the brightest of creative futures. Budding film directors and photographers also get the opportunity to be recognised with a D&AD Pencil and have their talent promoted back to the industry – in the Next Awards.
The Next Photographer Award aims to discover and showcase the next generation of talented photographers from around the world.
– For photographers who have had less than 50% of their income coming from their own photography in the past three year
– Open to any type of photography
– Winners get mentored by high profile photographers, agents and art buyers
– 5 photographs per submission
– Submission fee is £20
Contest Prize & TERMS
Photography Grant – The winner will receive a $5,000 grant from Getty Images to go towards realising their dream photography project.
Exhibition at the Truman Brewery, London – The shortlist will be exhibited in April 2016 at the D&AD Judging Festival in Shoreditch, London’s creative hub.
Flights to London & Awards Ceremony – Shortlisted photographers get tickets to attend the D&AD Awards Ceremony in May 2016, where the winner will be announced in front of over 800 of the industry’s most prominent creatives. The winner also gets flights to come to London for the event.
Next Photographer Pencil – The winner gets a bespoke Pencil from D&AD, the Next Photographer Pencil.
Mention in D&AD Annual 2016 – The shortlist and winner will be published in the D&AD Annual, a stunning print showcase of the best creative work of the year, distributed to ad agencies and design studios in over 50 countries. Not eligible to enter? - Find contest where you are.
