4th Biennial of Fine Art & Documentary Photography, Berlin 2016
In this 8th consecutive edition of the Julia Margaret Cameron Award for women photographers, The Gala Awards invites professional and amateur women photographers working in all mediums, styles and schools of thought. Traditional, contemporary, avant-garde, creative and experimental works that include old and new processes, mixed techniques, and challenging personal, emotional or political statements will be welcome.
There are no restrictions regarding the date the submitted images were taken.
Selected images in this Award will be invited to exhibit in the 4th Biennial of Fine Art and Documentary Photography in Berlin, 2016.
Professional and non-professional women photographers from all countries, can participate competing together in a unique section.
PORTRAITS (includes Self-Portrait)
PEOPLE (includes Children, Culture and Daily Life, Documentary, and Street Photography)
LANDSCAPES (includes Urban and rural lansdcape, Nature, Cityscapes, Architecture, Animals and Wildlife)
FINE ART (Includes Nude and Figure, Still life and Abstractions)
ALTERNATIVE PROCESSES (Includes Digital Manipulation, Collage)
CELL PHONE PHOTOGRAPHY (theme is open; image has to be originally taken with a cell phone; editing and processing is allowed)
Contest Prize & TERMS
COPYRIGHT: All participants of the THE GALA AWARDS (TGA) competitions warrant that they own the work submitted and they have exclusive copyright. By submitting to this award entrants agree with these rules and conditions of entry.
TGA recognizes that the authors retain full ownership of the image copyright. USAGE RIGHTS: Participants warrant that their photographs may be reproduced for the purpose of marketing and promoting TGA contests, in catalogues, posters, postcards, publications, and on the Internet. Such use is granted for not more than two years after the announcement of the awards, and without payment to the photographer or featured models. Photographers will receive photo credits with each use, and will allow TGA to sub-license their photographs to the press for reproduction in connection with the contest and TGA exhibitions.
TGA will treat participant’s data confidential, and their email addresses or other personal data will only be used to contact the contestants, and will not be transmitted to third parties without explicit consent.
TGA has the right to reject and remove any entry that contains defamatory, obscene, or pornographic content, or that may be considered a criminal offence or violate any law.
