12th Annual Northwest Exposure Photo Contest
Washington Trails Association’s 12th Annual Northwest Exposure Photo Contest hopes to focus attention on the beauty found while out on Washington’s trails. Prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place in five different categories and a grand prize. Winners will be featured in the January/February 2015 issue of Washington Trails in the 2015 calendar
Photographers may submit only one photo in each of five categories:
Trailscapes – Incredible landscapes and the trails that take you through them. Photos must be taken in Washington.
Hikers in Action – Capture the experience with hikers on trail. Here are some ideas: Compose a shot that features smiling hikers coming down the trail. Or capture a well-placed hiker in a photo to demonstrate scale in nature. Photographer must have permission for photo to be published from any person whose face is shown in the photo.
Flora and Fauna – Woods, wildflowers and all things four-legged and furry! Share your best photos of Washington’s native plants or animals found while out on trail—from pikas to bears, from trilliums to lupine. Images of captive animals photographed in game farms or roadside zoos will be disqualified.
Camp Life – Fun picnicking, camping and sitting around the campfire.
Offbeat Outdoors – Show us the weird, wild and wacky from your outdoor adventures on the trails of Washington state. This category will be judged in part by public voting online.
The same photo cannot be entered in more than one category. Judges reserve the right to switch images to other categories.
