Wanderlust Photo of the Year
Wanderlust Photo of the Year is now accepting submissions. Once again we’re looking for outstanding photos from around the globe, taken by travellers just like you.. Amateur photographers are welcome to enter up to four photographs in any of the People, Wildlife, Landscape or Travel Icons categories for the chance to win photo commissions to either Senegal or Ghana. Both amateur and professional photographers could also enter a Portfolio category, with a cash prize of £3,000.
The portfolio must be themed and reflect one of the categories. The images must work together to create a cohesive portfolio. Pictures will be judged independently and as a set.
Each submission must consist of a portfolio of five photos in total. Only one entry per individual is allowed – multiple entries will result in disqualification.
Win a commission – Amateur competition
From the lively beaches, colonial architecture and elephant-rich savannahs of Ghana to the verdant jungles of Senegal, a visit here is an expedition. You’ll wander past wind-sculpted Saharan sand dunes, navigate sunburnt mangrove mazes and stand on salty coastlines – signs of the region’s diversity. It is one of the hidden corners of our planet: a land of nomads and a haven for photographers…
Wanderlust has teamed up with Gambia Bird Airlines to whisk four winners off to Accra or Dakar on an extraordinary photographic commission.
Win £3,000 – Portfolio competition
The Portfolio competition is open to both amateur and professional photographers (and it’s often won by amateurs). Here, we’re after a set of five eye-catching images that work together as a set – they should be striking images in themselves that, when put together, tell a cohesive and spectacular story.
Similarly to the Amateur competition, the Portfolios must fit one of the same four categories: People, Wildlife, Landscape or Travel Icons – maybe five awesome wildlife shots, or five different perspectives on the world’s travel icons. The winner will walk away with a whopping £3,000.
And the Runners Up and Highly Recommended?
Don’t worry if you don’t win the top prize, all our Runners Up and Highly Recommended entrants will win cameras kindly provided by Nikon.
