2013 Living Well With Dementia Photo Contest
Would you like to help increase awareness of Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias? Then the Alzheimer Society of Toronto’s 2nd annual Living Well with Dementia Photo Contest is for you, whether you’re an amateur or professional photographer, a person with dementia, a family member, or a frontline health-care provider.
The Photo Contest theme is Living Well with Dementia with three categories:
1. The Power of Music for people with dementia
2. People
3. Interpretive — Photos that creatively express your personal interpretation of living well with dementia (e.g. a close-up of hands painting a picture).
Your photos should tell a story, demonstrating that each person with dementia, regardless of the disease stage, is an individual with unique qualities and personality, who wants to be included, feel part of a community, and experience activities they enjoy such as music, art, gardening, etc.
Our Photo Contest partners are ComfortLife.ca and the Toronto Camera Club (TCC) – the oldest camera club in Canada founded in 1888 – who will provide accredited judges from the Greater Toronto Council of Camera Clubs to judge the photo submissions.
