Communities In Focus Photo Contest

cam360 Love your community? Take an inspiring snap that captures the spirit of your community and you could win a digital SLR camera and photography training course.

We’ve partnered with Big Lottery Fund, thisis and localpeople news sites to find inspirational images of what people across the country love about their communities.

Entries to Communities in Focus could include anything from local events such as street parties and farmers’ markets or portraits of local people making a difference, such as charity volunteers or community groups.Submit your pictures of inspiring images of community life – people, places and pastimes

The Competition is divided into two categories (each a “Competition Category”) as follows:

The “Inspiring Image Category”
 Entrants to the Inspiring Image Category must submit a photograph which they consider depicts their community in a positive manner. For example these could be photographs from local events, activities and sports clubs and could feature people enjoying their favourite local places and pastimes in the community.

The “Big Lottery Fund Project Category”
Entrants to the Big Lottery Fund Project Category must submit a photograph which they consider depicts how projects funded by the Big Lottery Fund are currently making a positive difference to people and communities. Photos can be taken by anyone from project staff members and beneficiaries to members of the public.

Contest Prize & TERMS

PRIZE DETAILS: The two Winners of the Competition will each be awarded A Canon EOS 5D Mark II Digital SLR 24-105mm IS Kit with 32GB memory card ; and two places on a media-training course [a full or half day training in photojournalism, held either at Media Trust’s offices in Wood Lane, London or a regional location to be selected by Media Trust during the period of 10th January – 30th June 2013.] ELIGIBILITY: England / 18+ Not eligible to enter? - Find contest where you are.

COPYRIGHT: Each Entrant hereby warrants to Promoters that the Photograph does not contain any registered trade marks or materials which may be protected by copyright. USAGE RIGHTS: By submitting your photographs you are allowing us to use them for any purpose and in all media, including for purposes not relating to the Competition such as marketing and news reporting. You will still own the photographs and be able to use them however you wish.

All entrants agree to the free use of their names, Photographs and general locations for publicity and news purposes , including social media, in any and all media by the Promoter its licensees, subsidiaries and/or assignees. In addition, by entering this Competition, entrants shall be deemed to have given their permission for such uses. Such publicity may include entries being featured on-line and used generally for publicity purposes, or for articles to be featured in press online or in print, throughout and beyond the Competition Period. The Entrant hereby acknowledges that there shall be no fee or royalty payable in respect of such publicity.

Entrants hereby waive any and all moral rights to which they may be entitled in and to the Photographs and Captions submitted
