FRESH 2012 Photo Contest
FRESH is the annual summer show produced and presented by the eponymous Klompching Gallery. In 2012, FRESH will crossover from the wall to the page to the internet, reflecting the three ways in which photography is displayed, published and disseminated. It’s also gone global and is inviting submissions from photographers worldwide.
The 2012 FRESH Curators are Fred Bidwell (collector) and Darren Ching (owner at Klompching Gallery). This year, FRESH is partnering with two innovative media enterprises: BLINK magazine and Flak Photo.
WHAT FRESH IS LOOKING FOR
Submissions of single bodies of work that demonstrate a consistent vision, originality, excellence in craftsmanship and a strong viewpoint. We are looking for the very best examples of new contemporary fine art photography.
FRED BIDWELL (with Laura Ruth Bidwell) is an active collector of contemporary photo-based art and has amassed an extensive collection by European and North American artists. The Bidwells’ philanthropy in the arts includes the sponsorship of current work by contemporary artists. Fred Bidwell is the Board President of the Akron Art Museum and a Trustee of the Cleveland Museum of Art. In 2012, The Fred and Laura Ruth Bidwell Foundation established The Transformer Station in Cleveland, Ohio, in collaboration with The Cleveland Museum of Art, which will serve as a venue for contemporary photography, including artworks from the Bidwell Projects Collection. bidwellprojects.com

Klompching Gallery was established in 2007 by Debra Klomp Ching and Darren Ching, specializing in the exhibition and sale of contemporary fine art photography. The New York City-based gallery represents an international roster of artists, whose work has been placed into notable public and private collections. Reviews of its exhibitions have appeared in publications such as The New Yorker, New York magazine and Modern Painters.
BLINK magazine features the latest exhibitions and artists in the international contemporary photography spotlight. BLINK presents a straightforward layout, high quality offset printing, no advertising and in-depth interviews with artists. BLINK magazine is published and edited by ARam Kim.
