2012 Asian Productivity Organization

APO_LOGO_a copyThe APO Photo Contest 2012 is organized by the Asian Productivity Organization Secretariat, Hirakawa-cho Daiichi Seimei Building, 1-2-10 Hirakawa-cho, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo 102-0093, Japan. It is held every two years only.

The theme of the 2012 APO Photo Contest is Productivity and Sustainable Development. Photos must show scenes from everyday life reflecting either productivity, sustainable development, or both. Productivity means “improved or better ways of doing things,” while sustainable development means “progress with due regard for environmental protection.”

The 2012 contest will have two categories: 1) agriculture and 2) industry. Each of the two categories will have a gold, silver, and bronze prize winner. Five merit prizes will be selected from either category. A Grand Prize will be given to the photo that best combines all the technical elements of photography and creatively interprets the theme while reflecting both categories of agriculture and industry in one image.

The contest is open to all who are nationals of APO member economies, which include Bangladesh, Cambodia, Republic of China, Fiji, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Islamic Republic of Iran, Japan, Republic of Korea, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Mongolia, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Vietnam.

USAGE RIGHTS: By entering the contest, the entrant agrees to grant the APO an irrevocable, perpetual, worldwide nonexclusive license to reproduce, distribute, display, and create derivative works of the entries (along with the photo information and entrant’s name) only in connection with the contest and promotion of the contest. The APO will not be required to pay any additional consideration or seek any additional approval in connection with such use.

The APO will have the right to use the winning entries for information, education, and public relations purposes without further compensating the winners.
