Spotlight on Opposites

Spotlight on Opposites - Call for Entries Up/down, peace/war, dark/light, left/right, hot/cold, life/death – these opposites and many others like them incite much dialogue and imagery. This competition will select one emerging artist whose work deals with opposites for a 1 page article spotlighting his/her work.

The opposing dualities may be expressed in a variety of ways – subject matter, symbols, color combinations, audience participation, and/or other creative avenues.

PRIZE DETAILS: Your work will be published in our full color, high gloss printed publication sent to thousands of galleries, collectors, and curators. You will receive 3 complimentary copies. COPYRIGHT: Copyrights and ownership of the artwork images remains with the artist. Artist name and artwork title will always be displayed with reproduced art images. USAGE RIGHTS: Artist’s Grant of Rights: The artist grants to the Visual Overture Magazine (“the publisher”) non-exclusive publication rights for the artwork images submitted, and further grant a non-exclusive license for other uses of the work for the duration of its copyright in all languages, throughout the world, in all media for advertising purpose of the publisher. You give right to the publisher to make image adjustments as needed for publication, including but not limited to variations in color, brightness, hue, and sizing (cropping) to accomplish the desired aesthetics of reproductions of the artwork. Artist’s Ownership of Copyright: Copyrights and ownership of the artwork images remains with the artist. Artist name and artwork title will always be displayed with reproduced art images. Warranty of Authorship: The artist warrants to the publisher that he/she is the sole creator of the artworks and has the full power to make this agreement. The artist indemnifies the publisher against any losses and other expenses, including reasonable attorney's fees, after final judgment of any claim or action against any or all of these warranties.
