Colors of Life Photography Contest @ University
An International Photo Contest representing an opportunity for student photographers (and professors) to submit and exhibit their works in the United States and internationally.
THEME “A dream in color”
Any form of photographic medium, black and white, color, non-silver, computer-manipulated, etc., is eligible.
Student photographers should feel free to interpret this year’s theme in the broadest sense to allow full range of their creativity.
The work of the participants selected by Colors of Life will be submitted to a jury of leading international gallery owners, academics and artists and the first five selected finalist photographs in the Competition will be shown at:
Capital One Corporate Gallery, Richmond VA, January-March 2011
Art Works, Richmond VA, April-May 2011
The first prize photograph will be exhibited during the whole month of June 2011 in the National Museum of Modern Art Carlos Merida in Guatemala City and published in the auction catalog. (www.juannio.org). In addition, the Colors of Life catalog will be printed and sold to raise funds for the Neurological Institute of Guatemala
A portion of the funds collected from sales of students’ works and otherwise at exhibitions will support the Neurological Institute of Guatemala (www.juannio.org), a non-governmental, non-profit organization actively providing and giving assistance to underprivileged children with special learning needs
JURY REVIEW AND SELECTION
Selected pictures will be submitted to a leading panel of jurors for the final selection of first, second and third prizes and two honorable mentions.

Annie Hogan, Photographer, Professor of Photography, Rutgers University, New Jersey, USA
Jury review and voting will be completed by November 30, 2010. Finalists will be notified by an official letter and e-mail.
Colors of Life has arranged with leading American and Latin-American professionals to provide media coverage for the entire competition, the opening receptions and the collective exhibitions in order to provide suitable promotion and publicity for participating students.
