Darwin 200 Photographic Competition
Charles Darwin’s career was founded on his childhood fascination with the plants and animals on his own doorstep. This fascination took him around the world and led to an understanding of life that has shaped the modern world. It is Darwin’s spirit of exploration and investigation that, with the generous support of the Wellcome Trust, we aim to celebrate in the hope that it may inspire the same spirit in our visitors.
We invite photographs that are inspired by the Competition’s themes of the exploration and investigation of nature. They could be from far off countries or on your doorstep. You could take pictures of animals and plants in your garden or local park, the Horniman Gardens, the Grant Museum, another museum or on your holidays.
Please write a sentence or short paragraph of no more than 50 words to describe how your photograph relates to the theme of the competition.
The winners from each category and a Best in Show will exhibited at the Horniman Museum from 19 November 2009.
