Win US$ 5,000 in photographic equipment (Canon or Nikon) and one year worldwide exhibition roadshow. The Latin American Center of Photography call for entries to the first edition of the Latin American Photography Award. The goal of the Award is to contribute to the cultural integration and mutual understanding between different nations of the Latin American region, promoting the works of the Latin American photographers.

The Award will have 11 categories: Environment, Customs and Popular Culture, Landscapes and Cityscapes, Labor, Science and Education, Daily Life, Fine Art, Open Theme, Portrait, Architecture, Photojournalism, Sports and Nature and wildlife.

ELIGIBILITY : Open to all photographers, professional or amateur, born in any country in Latin America, regardless of their current place of residence, and those born outside Latin America residing in any Latin American nation.

JURY : Chaired by Magnum Photos’ Rene Burri and integrated by photographers from Chile, Peru, Argetnina, Mexico, Brazil and Venezuela. The Jury will select photos in each category, to be exhibited in December 2012 at the Centro Cultural Borges, Buenos Aires, and then the exhibition will itinerate in Latin American and European countries.
