100 Images of Migration
The Migration Museum is an exciting venture which aims to establish a new national Migration Museum in the UK. In conjunction with the Guardian newspaper, it is seeking to find 100 images of migration.
People are invited to upload images resonant of migration, whether personal – maybe objects brought to the UK or left behind – or in the public domain, for example a banknote printed on Huguenot Portal family paper, or depicting a neighbourhood that represents migration to or from the UK.
Images can be uploaded via the Migration Museum Project’s website. Winning entries will be judged by Barbara Roche, former Minister for Immigration, actor and playwright Kwame Kwei-Armah, the Guardian’s Afua Hirsch and Danny Sriskandarajah, Director of the Royal Commonwealth Society.
The competition ends on 15th July 2011 and a selection of winning images will feature in Guardian Weekend magazine.
