1 MISSISSIPPI PHOTO CONTEST
1Mississippi and Brookfield Renewable Power are proud to present the First Mississippi River Photo Contest. Connecting 31 states via its tributaries, it’s easy to feel that the River doesn’t “belong” to anyone, yet, at the same time, its broad reach makes it everyone’s; it unites us as a people and we rely on it as a resource. We live in many different states, but we are, without a doubt, one nation and 1 Mississippi.
Amateur and professional photographers are invited to enter their best Mississippi River photographs that exemplify the unique landscape of the mighty Mississippi and the communities that populate its banks. We hope to see the diverse wildlife and natural areas, cities and cultures that make the Mississippi River unique.
Submit up to 3 photos by August 8, 2010 for your opportunity to win. Winners will be selected based on originality, technical excellence, composition, overall impact and artistic merit.
Great prizes will be awarded to the first, second and third place winners in both an amateur and a professional category. First place winners will also have their photographs and names printed on 8ft tall banners used at Mississippi River festivals, fairs and farmers markets throughout the region!
