“High-Light Architecture” GADA 2015

Poster-Lomba-Fotografi-Arsitektur-Internasional-GADA-2015 This year, GADA holds the theme “High Light Architecture” where the objects are lighting in architectural design. Lighting is one of the most important architectural elements. Lighting will bring a different impressions to a building. It can be luxurious, plain, homey, and any other impressions.

Hopefully, The final product shows the natural lighting effects from the building, not from the lighting tools itself and also how the natural or artificial lighting effects shows the natural esthetics of the building, not a faked one. The objects can be buildings, or any other constructions that can provide human’s activity, but not kind of monuments or sculptures.

Submission Rules

• Competition is open for university/college and high school students overseas (≤ 25 years old).

• Registration can be done before or along with submission. Registration and submission will be held at February 16th, 2015 – March 2nd, 2015.

• Participant is allowed to use either analog or digital camera.

• All images submitted must be the work of the individual submitting them and must not have been published elsewhere or have won a prize in any other photographic competition. The image file EXIF data must be able to be seen and must not be changed.

• All images submitted must not contain any racism, sadism or nudity element.

• All images submitted that deviated from the theme or is past the deadline will not be qualified.

• Commitees will not be responsible if there is any lawsuits from any 3rd party regarding the entries submitted.

• Entries are allowed in either color or greyscale/black and white.

• Editing is limited to retouch (level, brightness/contrast). Masking and HDR photography technique is not allowed.

• Montage, collage, copyright, frame, and watermark is not allowed.

• Infrared photos are allowed.

• Entries submitted will be rightfully belong to committees and will not be returned. Committees are allowed to use entries for publication or any other non-commercial activities. Copyright belongs to participants and is protected with copyright protection.

• Judging will be held in private in Petra Christian University, Surabaya, Indonesia.

• Judges’ decisions are absolute and inviolable.

• Prizes will be transferred to winners’ bank accounts. The participants is responsible for tax(es) and charge(s) requirements in his/her country. Any other necessary transaction fee is not accounted for.

• Participants are to agree and understand the terms and conditions.

• Terms and conditions may change without notice.

Submission Guidelines for International Participants:

• Photo object: Lighting In detail all over the world.

• Participants may submit up to 3 entries.

• Entries are submitted in soft copy (image file in .JPEG extension, with minimum resolution of 300 dpi, file name with the following format: participant’s name_country_school/university_title of the photo_building name).

• Negative film is not required for participants using analog camera.

• Submission includes a file of registration form (can be downloaded from our website), a scanned copy of valid student card, and a copy of proof of payment/receipt.

• All files are submitted via website upload at www.gadapetra.com.

• Competition fee is USD 10 for international participants. Fees are to be transferred via PayPal to ivanakedison@gmail.com. *For PayPal users: we suggest selecting payment purpose as “personal payments” before proceeding to avoid any problems regarding held transactions to both participants and committees. We also suggest leaving/attaching a note to the payment saying “GADA Petra”.

• Any submissions without proof of payment or receipt will be disqualified and will not be returned to participants.

• Registration and submission is received by committee from February 16th, 2015 – March 2nd, 2015. Participants whose entries that already have been accepted by the committee will receive a confirmation via email. Committees will not be responsible for any damage regarding to entries.

Submission Guidelines for local participants (Indonesia):

• Photo object: Lighting In detail all over the world

• Participants may submit up to 3 entries.

• Entries are submitted in soft copy (CD containing image file in .JPEG extension, with minimum resolution of 300 dpi, file name with the following format: participant’s name_province_school/university_title of the photo) and a hard copy (printed in photographic paper with 10RS 20cm x 30cm size. Note that 10RS is different from 10R.

• Photo must be printed in photo paper.

• Negative film is not required for participants using analog camera.

• Entry is attached with a paper along with the information of: participant’s name, school, building location (city and country) sticked on the back of the photo.

• Submission includes registration form (can be downloaded here), a copy of valid student card, and proof of payment/receipt.

• All files are submitted in a brown envelope folio/F4 size with a text on the front side, “GADA 2015: HIGH-LIGHT IN ARCHITECTURE_FULL NAME” with landscape format.

• Entries may be submitted directly to committee at the registration desk or by post to: Kantor TU Arsitektur – Universitas Kristen Petra, Gedung P, lantai 6, Jl. Siwalankerto 142-146, Surabaya 60236, Indonesia.

o Registration desk will be open from February 16th, 2015 – March 2nd, 2015 on 12.30-13.30 at P building 1st floor and B building 1st floor, Petra Christian University, Surabaya, Indonesia.

o Entries by post will be accepted from February 16th, 2015 – March 2nd, 2015.

• Competition fee is IDR50,000.00 for UK Petra students, and 60,000.00 for local participants outside UK Petra students. Participants may transfer to BCA Account: 8630136556 a.n Ivana K Edison or by cash directly to committee at the registration desk.

• Any submissions without proof of payment or receipt will be disqualified and will not be returned to participants.

• Registration and submission is received by committee from February 16th, 2015 – March 2nd, 2015. Participants whose entries that already have been accepted by the committee will receive a confirmation via email or text message. Committees will not be responsible for any damage regarding to entries.

Rules of Photography’s Object:

• It represents “Lighting in Architecture”.

• The building which becomes the object of photography is emphasized by the lighting.

• The object can be exterior (or building facade) or interior.

• Daylighting object will be prioritised if choosing interior as the object of photography.

• The object must be lighting and its effect to the building, not the lighting tools like lamps,shading device, etc
