Human Rights Through Visual Storytelling

logo1 AnthropoGraphia Award 5th Edition. This is an excellent opportunity for visual storytellers to exhibit their work and demonstrate their commitment to human rights issues.

For the 2013 edition, we will be selecting 12 photo-essays and 6 multimedia projects from the entries submitted. These will be chosen by a team of curators that includes Matthieu Rytz, the president of AnthropoGraphia, and 2 guests curators:  Adrian Evans – Director of Panos Pictures, and Shahidul Alam – photographer, writer, lecturer and human rights activist.
There are no specific qualifications required to submit work to AnthropoGraphia, other than that the submitted photographic essay must have a clear connection to Human Rights.We are looking for a long-term, in-depth, and cohesive body of work.Submitted photographs will be assessed according to their relevance to human rights issues, their aesthetic impact and their general coherence.

COPYRIGHT: The author of the photographs and/or multimedia project(s) guarantees that he owns all rights, including copyrights, for the photographs and/or multimedia project(s) that he/she submits.
The author of the photographs and/or multimedia project(s) guarantees that he/she has the right to make the photographs and/or multimedia project(s) available to the competition.
The author of the photographs and/or multimedia project(s) guarantees that the photographs and/or multimedia project(s) do not infringe upon the copyrights, trademarks, contact rights, or any other intellectual property rights of any third person or entity, or violate any person’s rights of privacy or publicity.
AnthropoGraphia recognizes that the author of the photographs and/or multimedia project(s) is the sole owner and author of all submitted material and retains full ownership of the copyright of all the materiel submitted. USAGE RIGHTS: AnthropoGraphia will not sell any photograph(s) and/or multimedia project(s) without previously contacting the author in order to agree on terms and conditions.
The author accepts that his/her photographs and/or multimedia project(s) be used by AnthropoGraphia for press releases and other exhibition-related promotional material.
The author accepts that his/her photographs and/or multimedia project(s) be used on the “www.anthropographia.org” website
AnthropoGraphia will systematically include the author’s name and copyright on all material used.
AnthropoGraphia reserves the right to choose the photographs and/or multimedia project(s) for exhibitions in which AnthropoGraphia is involved. AnthropoGraphia also reserves the right to select the format and the venue of these exhibitions.
AnthropoGraphia reserves the right to edit the synopsis and/or the caption of photographs and/or multimedia project(s) submitted by candidates.
AnthropoGraphia reserves the right to screen the multimedia project(s) during the exhibitions.
AnthropoGraphia reserves the right to display the printed photographs with or without the multimedia component.
AnthropoGraphia reserves the right to publish the photographs for promotional purposes only, including but not limited to, magazine, newspapers, online publication, and exhibition catalogs.
