For 2013, the collaborative team made up of the organisers of the horizons zingst, Environmental Photo Festival and photokina – world of imaging, is once more looking for the best nature photos of the year, revolving around the theme of species diversity.
Heartbeat of nature is a competition that offers you a great chance to win a Volkswagen up! or one of 99 valuable non-cash prizes. The total value of all the prizes is over 30,000 euros.
Heartbeat of nature is an open competition. Any amateur photographer who wants to take part can do so by registering and uploading up to three images
From among all the submissions received, a jury of experts will select the best 100 pictures for the exhibition. Each participating photographer who has work on display will receive a certificate and a prize.
The opening of the exhibition and the award ceremony will take place on October 5, 2013, at the Kunsthallen Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten in Zingst, as one of the highlights of the »Active Autumn Photography« programme. A touring exhibition is planned, along with an exhibition catalogue.
Contest Prize & TERMS
The entries chosen by the jury will be part of the public exhibition "Heartbeat of Nature" in Zingst.

COPYRIGHT: The photographer retains the rights to the pictures.
USAGE RIGHTS: By participating, the participant grants both the organisers and the Koelnmesse, the temporal, spacial and with regard to content, unlimited, non-exclusive right to use and exploit the competition entries within the framework of photokina and all the corresponding exhibitions, printed matter and other media, as well as in all Zingst websites and on the Zingst Facebook page, and in particular the right of reproduction, public availability and distribution, in other words, the unlimited right to reproduce, make publicly available and distribute the work under inclusion in all digital and analogue channels connected to the competition (print, internet, mobile, social media) and in particular through digital integration into websites, and the production of copies for the purpose of exhibitions and within the framework of the festival activities;
to transfer the work upon the request of an internet user, in other words, to transfer the competition entry on hand for the user to those calling for it;
to alter and process the work, in particular for the purpose of embedding the photos in the website;
For the purpose of publishing competition entries on the Zingst Facebook page, the participant grants the Kur- und Tourismus GmbH the right to grant Facebook a non-exclusive, transferable, sub-licensing permitted, cost free, worldwide licence to the competition entries in accordance with Facebook's conditions of use.
Without express agreement, the organisers will not use competition entries outside the competition in connection with advertising for Zingst or Zingst-related companies, or the Kur- und Tourismus GmbH Zingst. Should the organisers wish to use a competition entry outside of the competition for reasons other that the purposes mentioned, the organisers will contact the participant concerned to obtain his/her permission.
The organisers and the Koelnmesse will use the participant's user name as author of the competition entry, in the normal manner.
