In a nutshell, there are nine different submission categories plus a tenth category for young photographers. Each participant can submit up to five photographs. Online entry fees are £10 per image or just £30 for 5 photographs.
Judging is conducted anonymously in two stages and all entrants receive critiques during the first phase of the assessment process from three different judges on the team. The judging panel includes some internationally known professionals including Landscape Photographer Joe Cornish (Chair of Judges, Mike Maloney, Roger Tooth (Head of Photography at the Guardian), Linda Wride, Jonathan Beer, Steven Braker, J Collingridge and Amanda Berry (Chief Executive of BAFTA). As an extra incentive, the first 250 entrants will receive a free Verbatim USB Drive.
Entry fees are treated as donations which go to support the work of a highly acclaimed building restoration trust based in Richmond, North Yorkshire. This charity was responsible for the redevelopment of the town’s historic railway terminus which it continues to operate day-to-day.
